Rescue Operation

On 04/10/24, around 10 AM, citizens in Kelakar Bag, Belagavi, discovered a body floating in a state of decay in a well. Upon receiving the information, personnel from Khadebazar Police Station arrived at the location and called the fire brigade. However, retrieving the body proved difficult due to its position, buried 20 feet deep in the narrow well. The Khadebazar Police team then called the HERF Rescue team for assistance. Team leader Basavaraj Hiremath, along with Padmaprasad Huli, social worker Avadhoot Tudekar, Saurabh Sawant, Corporator Shankar Patil, fire brigade personnel, and local citizens worked together to recover the body in just one hour. Despite the well’s size and the challenging conditions, Basavaraj Hiremath courageously went down into the well to secure and remove the body. Corporator Shankar Patil also played a vital role in supporting the team throughout the operation.
